Our Mission:
At FLY, we believe in empowering the next generation to soar to new heights through volunteerism, service, personal discovery, and positive community impact. Our mission is to cultivate young leaders who are not only equipped with the skills and knowledge to make a difference but are also inspired to create a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
Our Commitment:
—Youth Empowerment: We are committed to nurturing the leadership potential within every participant. FLY provides a supportive and inclusive environment where young individuals can discover their unique strengths and develop the confidence to lead.
—Volunteerism: FLY encourages a spirit of volunteerism as a powerful tool for positive change. We instill the value of giving back to the community, fostering empathy, and understanding the importance of collective action.
—Service: Through hands-on service projects, we teach our young leaders the significance of active engagement in addressing societal challenges. FLY participants learn that meaningful service is not just about making a difference; it’s about becoming part of the solution.
—Personal Discovery: FLY is a journey of self-discovery. We guide participants on a path of self-awareness, helping them uncover their passions, values, and potential. This self-discovery is the foundation upon which they can build their leadership skills.
—Positive Community Impact: FLY is dedicated to creating tangible, positive impacts in our communities. We empower our youth to develop and implement projects that address real needs, leaving a lasting legacy of positive change.
By embracing these core principles, FLY aims to foster a generation of young leaders who are not only equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel but are also driven by a profound sense of responsibility to make the world a better place.
Together, we inspire, we lead, and we FLY towards a brighter future.

Our Story:
The Foundation for Leadership in Youth (FLY) was founded in 2023 by Camille Baird, a proud alumna of the 2014 HOBY Idaho leadership seminar. Inspired by the transformational experience that shaped her as a teenager, Camille recognized a critical gap in accessible, locally grounded leadership development for youth in Idaho. She envisioned a program rooted in empowerment, service, and self-discovery—one that was community-driven, affordable, and deeply personal.
With this vision at its heart, Camille built FLY from the ground up, guided by the belief that leadership isn’t about titles or recognition—it’s about action, empathy, and integrity. Supported by a passionate team of volunteers, FLY began to take shape as a space where young people could grow into confident, capable changemakers.
Since its inception, FLY has been hard at work developing a program that is both impactful and inclusive—tailored to the unique strengths, challenges, and potential of Idaho’s youth. Through experiential learning and meaningful mentorship, participants gain the tools they need to lead with purpose in their schools, communities, and beyond.
FLY is more than just a leadership camp—it’s a launchpad for self-discovery, a catalyst for community impact, and a place where the next generation of leaders begins their journey.
